In Loire Atlantique, Châteaubriant, a green country full of woods, lakes, manor houses and chapels, is at the heart of the West of France, close to great cities : Nantes, Rennes, Angers and Laval.
Chateaubriant is a “sous préfecture” counting 13,000 inhabitants, and the town is at the center of a larger area of 55,000 inhabitants. The beautiful castle, the St Jean de Béré’s Church and the soon to be thousand year old Foire de Béré bear witness to its prestigious past, of which the town is very proud. The town of Chateaubriant has been awarded 4 flames at the “Departement (Loire Atlantique) Label of Ville Sportive 2017” and won the title of “Most athletic town in Pays de la Loire” in 2013 and 2017, in the category of towns counting from 8,001 to 15,000 inhabitants.
Chateaubriant is also renowned nationally in the horse world for the Métairie Racecourse (and its panoramic restaurant) with 15 annual meets, 9 of which are shown on the TV channel Equidia. This summer, there will be 2 events of trifecta/1st four/top 5 at Chateaubriant.
